Pat Metheny Concert Tickets

Pat Metheny, also known as Patrick Bruce Metheny, is an American jazz guitarist and composer. He was born in Kansas City on August 12, 1954, and took a liking to music at a very young age, starting to play the trumpet at eight, and then switching to guitar at 12. When he turned 15, he was even working regularly with jazz musicians in Kansas City and gaining exposure that not many get at such a young age. Jazz fans everywhere should grab their Pat Metheny tickets now to experience his unique combination of swing, jazz and blues.

Metheny released his first album, Bright Size Life, in 1975. With it, he reinvented the traditional jazz guitar for a new generation of players. Year after year, this artist continued to push the boundaries of the jazz genre by using new technology and working to evolve the improvisational potential of his instruments.

Over the years Metheny has been a revolving staple in the many projects put out by King Crimson. These collaborations put Metheny on stage and in the studio with Robert Fripp, Pat Mastelotto, Tony Levin and Adrian Belew. While jazz is Metheny's mainstay, he continues to have a large influence in the progressive rock genre.

In 2002, he released Speaking of Now, followed by an acoustic solo album in 2003 called One Quiet Night. He continued to make records, coming out with Way Up in 2005 and Metheny Mehidau in 2006. In June 2011, he released his second solo acoustic guitar album. It was unlike his other records in that it was comprised entirely of covers of pop songs by contemporary songwriters like Paul Simon and Lennon and McCartney.
